Volunteers help
with anything from reading a newspaper to a resident to
helping decorate cookies! |
Touch the heart of someone, and you might
be surprised just how much it touches yours.
Volunteering at Good Shepherd means being a friend. Many
residents crave the personal one on one interaction that comes
with everyday life. Several of these people may have no family
or friends who come to visit, and find themselves bored, wishing
they had a friend to talk to. You can help fill that void by
being a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on.
At GSLC, we treat every resident with the dignity and respect,
which includes maintaining a sense of normalcy, through
activities and personal interaction. Your help can be anything
from assisting a resident in organizing their dresser drawer to
sending them a card.
