Assisted living is a coordinated
array of personal care, health maintenance activities and other supportive
service 24 hours per day. It is an option for those individuals who do not need
the intensive services provided in a nursing home, but something more than
independent living.
Shepherd’s Village is located in the
western half of the 2200 block of Wright Street. The two-story, 32 apartment
structure has two wings. The Hanson Wing, containing 20 apartments (522
sq. feet each) makes up the south portion of the Village. The Jorgensen Wing,
which contains 12 apartments (540 sq. feet each), comprises the north portion of
the complex. Shepherd’s Village has two distinct wings:
- Hanson Wing; which is
Subsidized Housing PRAC 202, these apartments is for individuals age 62 and
older. This wing is not a licensed health care entity; and
- Jorgensen Wing; which are State
Licensed Assisted Living Units.
Among the amenities offered at
Shepherd’s Village:

 Dining
room, centrally located on the first floor, serving three meals daily.
- Community room for resident meetings, parties, holiday functions,
music programs,
movies, exercise classes, on site client for medication review and blood
pressure screenings and other health activities.
- Beauty/barber shop, card and
recreation rooms, a library/computer room, laundry facility, meditation room
and whirlpool bath.
Services provided on the Jorgensen Wing at Shepherd’s Village
include:
- Twenty-four hour access to
nursing services and personal assistance.
- Supervision or provisions of
medications.
- Building maintenance and
housekeeping services.
- Coordination of social
activities and recreation.
- Provision or coordination of
transportation.
