Organized
Restorative Nursing care assures that each resident will receive and the
facility will provide, the needed care and services to attain or maintain a
resident’s practicable, physical, mental and psychosocial health. Restorative
Nursing is focused on the dignity and worth of each individual, moving away from
stereotyping or categorizing a person by injury, age, or diagnosis.
The therapy department continues to
assist many individuals to return to their homes, or other living arrangements
such as assisted living or perhaps a relative’s home. Good Shepherd has licensed
speech therapist, occupational therapist, and physical therapist on hand daily
as well as trained restorative staff. This is a very active department with
state of the art therapy equipment designed for the geriatric population.
